Addressing Risks, Strengthening Responses, and Overcoming Challenges
Natural disasters frequently happen in the Philippines because its country is placed within the Pacific Ring of Fire and a typhoon belt. With regard to this, typhoons, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes result in great damage, especially poverty-stricken and densely populated areas. Due to these vulnerabilities, it is therefore important for the country to build up resilience against such disasters. This risk, therefore, poses a priority to prevent such unprecedented losses, while the ultimate threat to lives and the economy. By being one with the response of the government and other organizations, there is a need to strengthen disaster preparedness and response: improvement in early warning systems, adequate infrastructures, and conducting education within communities on how to prepare for disasters.
